LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT COACHING

A THREE TIER APPROACH!

TIER I

Leadership and Management Coaching is 100% customized to the needs of the client. In most client organizations I will, first and foremost, serve as an executive sounding board and confidant. As a neutral observer, with no equity in the organization and therefore, no bias, I can help you to talk through strategic as well as employee matters and discuss the interactivity between them.

With this kind of give and take, YOU, the Exec, will come to your own conclusions after being asked thoughtful and strategic questions. Having had many years experience in an executive capacity, I will often have ideas based on my experience that will facilitate a solution to your specific issue. It truly is lonely at the top (that can mean it is the top post in the organization or a department within the organization). It is

lonely because you must maintain a clear leadership position within your organization. Having a confidant that understands you and your business isn’t just valuable on an intellectual level it’s priceless at many different levels.

Kelly O’Brien, President of TurningPointe Marketing, once commented: “Allen Hatton has this sort of sixth sense. He doesn’t just listen to the words being said. He is able to get to the core of the matter. His wide range of business experience and wisdom allows him to quickly zero in on an issue providing invaluable, accurate feedback.”

TIER II

There are many different styles of leadership and approaches to management. Whether you are command and control, democratic, pacesetter, visionary or a consensus builder you will benefit from learning the “Coach Approach” to leadership. More specifically Hatton’s “Coach Approach” is a style unto its self of leadership and management. The Hatton coach approach is best exemplified by former president Dwight Eisenhower’s definition of leadership: "The art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it."

The coach approach is an effective tool for any style leader to incorporate because it has proven to show the greatest long term results as evidenced by the growing trend of many of the nation’s largest and most successful organizations to incorporate coaching into their organization. However, the “Hatton Coach Approach” goes beyond executive coaching as we have defined it so far. The results might best be best described by Preston Schwartz, a vice-president at Marriott International:

“Allen has given me a simple system for making people want to be accountable for their own actions, and in turn, allowing me to hold them accountable. The results have been a positive effect on individual and team performance.”

TIER III
Whether you are leading two people or two-thousand, this system will increase your effectiveness and decrease your burden. The burden of running a department or your own company is the last tier of the three tiered approach that I have addressed. This is what makes the executive coaching system that I will offer you far more valuable than your typical business coach.

I have had more than twenty-five years of business and management experience and I have long been a student of (and teacher to) executives wanting to reduce stress levels and to lead more satisfying lives. My “holistic” approach to executive coaching assures the exec that their life in total needs to be addressed. Some refer to this as life or personal coaching. I am both a trained personal coach as well as a trained and experienced business coach and will help the busy executive to sort through the complexities of running an organization while, if they so desire, also helping them in developing a fulfilling personal life.

Drew Langloh, president of the United Way of Delaware, describes it this way:

“Allen’s CEO experience and ability to strategize has helped me significantly as we talk through various work related situations helped me to make better informed decisions and greatly reducing my stress level.”

Cathy Cogott, also of Marriott International says:

“My work with Allen Hatton has also spilled over to my home base. He has helped me implement a system of domestic delegation while slowing me down from my normal Hundred MPH pace, allowing me to have time for myself.

The three tiers of my Leadership coaching are seamlessly woven together in my customized approach with each exec I work with.
